Food Combinations Sabotage Your Digestive System
When starches and sugar are taken together they ferment resulting in carbon dioxide, acetic acid and alcohol -poisons. As proteins are digested, they become amino acids, however when taken with sugar they break down into a variety of ptomaines and leucomaines (poisons). In digesting foods, enzymes prepare them for absorption, however the bad bacterial decomposition makes them unfit as nutrients. So listen to your grandmother, and save the sweets, sugars, etc. until well after you have eaten your main meal. Never take them before, as they will slow down the digestive track, leading to gas and other undesirables. If you are having difficulties, avoid sugar and refined carbohydrates (white flour) entirely until the problems clear up.
